  1. I really didn't know much about Jackie going into the presentation at all other than he'd made some leaps and bounds in baseball. It's interesting to not the obstacles he had to overcome just to play in a sport that was supposedly all about fairness. [Also wow to those stats of his!] I think the only thing I'd like to know more about is if the movie lives up to the same story.

  2. You illustrated the importance of his career to the civil rights movement very well. By that I mean you made it clear with different points about the culture at that time as opposed to just saying he was part of the civil rights movement. I didn't know anything about Jackie Robinson in all honesty so I learned a lot from your presentation. Great Job.

  3. I thought you guys presented you topic really well. I did not realize all the things Jackie did besides play baseball. You guys convinced us that he was important and i think that shows you guys did a good job.

  4. Great presentation! I thought it was very interesting to hear that Jackie wasn't the best baseball player in the Negro league but he's the one getting the most recognition. I liked all the background information you guys gave. It really gave us a good idea about who he was. Nice job!

  5. Overall this was a very good presentation with a lot of good facts. I didn't know that Robinson had gotten so many awards. Also I never knew that the number 42 has been completely retired from baseball. The quotes that you had were interesting because it showed what it was like in that time.

  6. I already had an idea of who Jackie Robinson was both as a baseball player and as an important person in civil rights. The presentation did a good job of showing how hard he worked for civil rights and his commitment to the cause. I cannot say there is anywhere to improve here.

  7. I think that this presentation was done well. Before this presentation I knew that Jackie Robinson was an advocator of equality, but I didn't know that he was so against violence. I learned that he believed that any race can have the American Dream. I think that Jackie Robinson followed his dreams and that is why he is well known today.

  8. The part that I liked best about your presentation was the fact that Jackie was not acutally the best play in the Negro Leagues. There were many others who were better than him, except he possessed a quality that none of them had, which was the ability to "turn the other cheek." Instead of fighting back against racism, he resisted and was simply there to play the game. I thought the addition of the quote by the guy who signed him was very important. The only thing I would suggest to do for next time is to prepare your time better so that you can get everything in.

  9. This was one of my favorite presentations! I was really interested in the movie that’s coming out soon and actually learning about the history behind it was perfect. I had no idea that he received varsity letters in sports other than baseball and I didn’t know he was also in the military. I think he was one of the best people to represent the American Dream because his struggle to play baseball. And even when baseball was over he dedicated his time to the Civil Rights Movement which was something the genuinely cared about.

  10. I actually knew a lot about Jackie Robinson before this presentation. One of my favorite things about him is that he dealt with segregation basically his whole career. He was very famous in baseball and remains a legend for that. I also love that his number is retired through out the baseball league. I also liked that you guys tied in the American Dream aspect of the class. I think you guys could have fixed the slides to be more appealing to the eye. I think a couple more pictures would have been nice too. I also think there was some things that could have flowed better. Instead of saying "there will be a quote later on" you could have tied it into what you were saying and showed us then. Other than that, good job !

  13. I didn't know anything about Jackie Robinson prior to your presentation other than he was a baseball player. You did a great job on explaining his involvement with the civil rights movement and how much society was against him at this point in time. You two did great a job together!

  14. Good factual information. I had never really heard about Jackie Robinson before. It is awesome that he was involved in movements outside of baseball such as NAACP. Good visual and good comparison to Jack Johnson.

  15. You guys had a good presentation and were very informative about who Jackie Robinson was> Before your presentation i never really knew anything about him. I thought that it was cool that he was the first person to break the color barrier in baseball. Good Job!

  16. I thought this presentation was well done. I really like that they have retired his number and that one day every year, each baseball player wears his nnumber. I think that is just great and it really shows the respect that everyone has for him.

  17. The only thing that i knew about Jackie was that he was one of the first African American players in Baseball at the time. I learned that he was in the military i didn't know that. It was interesting that he also didn't give up his seat on a bus becaues when I think of not moveing from a bus seat i think of Ms parks so i learned somthing new. I like that part when you guys talked about his role in the civil rights movemnet becaues that's not somthing that is really talked about when you hear the name Jackie Robinson. Great Job!!!!

  18. Good Job! I knew a little bit about Jackie Robinson because in Delaware Branch Rickey is really big, so anything I knew about him was because of that, but I never knew any of the details of his story. It was interesting to hear about his life, and the influence he had not only in baseball but in the civil rights movement as a whole.

  19. I thought that is was really cool just what he did and how he changed things. I loved how he played his roles in civil rights and how he stood up for himself and wouldn't sit at the back of the bus. I also love that there is a day just for him, which is coming up next Monday. Good Job!
