"Ahh, but Father, there isn't any redemption without a little bit of blood." -Father Dobberstein quote re-said by Father Louis H. Greving
Father H. Greving impacted me because of his dedication to another mans vision. First, it involved ultimate trust in Father Dobberstein, since he said the vision was indeed from God. Also, the vision itself is one that can't be accomplished easily, and requires time, health, and effort to create just as good of art as Father Dobberstein.
What this person stands for is his God, his religion. And that is a great and important part of our culture today, no matter what beliefs we share they make up who we are.
Personally, I am a Christian, and dedicate much of my time to church and praise band. To me it's not a religion but a relationship. And being a Christian, shapes a lot of who I am, my morals and deep beliefs. Every Christian in my opinion is like Father Louis H. Greving. We may not be working to achieve his particular vision on Earth, but we are all working to someday receive the ultimate vision of heaven. While Father Greving prepares by creating beautiful Grotto's to spread the word of God, we do the same every Sunday, or out and about when someone asks us about God, we spread the word.
