Music- John Lennon, Tupac Shakur, Elvis Presley
Michael Jordan changed the game of basketball forever. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school Varsity team in high school and did not take no for an answer. The next year he came back as the number one player and paved his way to the University of North Carolina where he played until he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls. Michael is now the face of the NBA, he is known as the "greatest player of all time" by millions of people. Every kid growing up a basketball fan idolized him, and still do today. Michael made it clear that with extreme dedication and perseverance that anything is possible. Today Michael Jordan's clothing/ shoe brand is one of the highest worth retail brands in the world. Michael continues his NBA career now as an NBA owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. Jordan is personally my idol because he never took no for an answer. He wasn't "the best" until he made himself the best, meaning he never stopped working at his craft until people remembered him as the greatest ever. I think that is one of the most inspiring stories ever.
"I have failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why i succeed" -MJ
Tupac shakur changed music with his lyrics. He opened the door for a lot of rappers even today with the very open and vulgar style that he started using. Tupac sort of symbolizes "from the bottom to the top", or "from nothing to something" as a lot of rappers say today. Basically this means that they grew up as nobodies and with no possessions, but rap gave them the window to succeed. So Tupac symbolizes success and stardom, especially in the field of music. I personally like Tupac’s music because he tells a story with his words and it’s almost like a story, (but still with harsh language that is very common in rap/hip-hop). Most of the rap today is just a bunch of nothing and makes no sense at all.
