The most important theme through out the film is that the way we produce food today is not fitting to nature. The people in this film are farmer, thinkers, business people across america who are trying to re-invent our food system. The farmers in this movie have respect for nature and how it works just like Joel Salatin said "respect the design of nature". Nature is here for a reason and we abuse it in a way that does not help anyone. Everybody is looking for the easier way out so you do not have to put to much effort in. "Americans fear inconvenience" I agree completely with this statement. Look at the world now everything thats out there is looking for a faster and easier way out. Americans do not see that the faster way does not really help either. If all farmers were to do as the people are doing in the movie, we probably would have to ever worry about bacteria in food and crops and also in the animals. Yes it may be cheaper to have food produced with out antibiotics and such but does anyone ever think of the lack of nutrition that are in those products. If you buy food with less nutritional value then its cheap and you get what you pay for. If we people like Will Allen educate people about how to grow produce the healthier way people may realize that the easier way isn't the way to go.
Ways to implement these ideas to our own life I guess would be to grown some vegetables in our own backyards or buy from farmers markets that are around you. I know at my parents house they grow vegetables in their backyard and its the best way to start.
